Social media is a versatile way to express yourself, however, I find that people can get carried away and say things no person would ever say in anyone's face, because of the freedom social media provides. A rule everyone should go by, when on the internet, is to never say to a person online what you wouldn't tell them in person. They're still human, and they do get affected by things. I don't think social media harms me in any way, but, I think it would be better if people actually spoke in person, instead of only online. Even though I feel that way about some things, I do believe social media is a great outlet to express creativity and connect with people you usually wouldn't be able to connect to, such as distant friends and relatives. These few lines made me feel a little guilty, because I used to say things to my internet friends that I wouldn't dare say to them in real life.

Social media can be a useful tool, when used correctly. It can be used for school, work, making quick connections with friends and family, and many more. Even though I feel that way about some things, I do believe social media is a great outlet to express creativity and connect with people you usually wouldn't be able to connect to, such as distant friends and relatives. I believe that we, as young people in the age of social media, should remember to stay safe and be a good citizen of the Internet while social media continues to grow and evolve. We should remember that, even though social media still has plenty of problems, the only way for it to go is up. We should be responsible and happy while using this outlet that the people before us didn't have the privilege to be able to use on a daily basis. I agree on your opinion about social media. It is vivid and well-explained.

Having social media accounts really changed the way I treated everyone around me because it made me realize that our lives online can affect us in real life and vice versa. It helped me be more conscious about what I say and do. Yeah it helped me *after* I stopped using social medias

As the Internet, the World Wide Web, social networking and the like have only come to be a contributor to us a few decades ago, our world has changed very greatly, both positively and negatively. In my life, social media has affected me more in a beneficial way. I've been able to apply a lot of the things I've learned through experiences to my social and communication skills. This includes getting to know people's attitudes towards others and personalities by how frequent they are online, topics they start or mainly how they respond. Furthermore, they each have contributed pros and cons in the most important aspects of who I am right now: a daughter, a friend and a student. As a daughter, social media has helped me keep in touch with my parents more effectively and less costly, especially with Instant Messaging and Video-calling, if they are not around. As a friend, social media has helped me bridge gaps in a way between far away friends and relatives; moreover, social media makes it less awkward and more sufficient to make new friends. Being active has helped me talk to my friends especially when I need moral support and good vibes, when I am to be informed on last minute changes in plans and when someone needs to talk to me ASAP about the latest gossip. Lastly, as a student, social media has made it easier and practical if ever there are needed clarifications for assignments and lessons, communicating with group members to collaborate on different tasks and to get different opinions on certain topics to widen our understanding on it. With this, I'd like to conclude that, as though we know how to use social networking responsibly, we are blessed to witness the presence of social media sites in our lives. Social media has evolved little by little as brilliant minds pursue the solutions to limits in communication, and information. Many kids, especially adolescents, today acquiring social media accounts have affected this generation in becoming so different than what our parents were when they were our age. Google, Facebook and YouTube are just some of the many popular social apps we use today. Technology will improve more and more as the years pass by; this is obviously not the end of possibility for more evolution in social media. I strongly agree when you say that social media has changed our world both positively and negatively since there are lots of good and bad posts that can be accessed by young children

Social media affects my life because with social media, I can connect with my distant friends and relatives. This benefits me because it will will be easier to talk to people which are far away from you, this is more beneficial than doing harm, but this may also harm us because of the information we may be posting on any social media account and people you may not know can see the information you posted. This may cause someone to be socially insensitive because you are merely just typing while talking to someone, but maybe you wont know how to talk to that person in real life. Social media affects me as a daughter because I sometimes spend more time on social media than with my family. It affects me as being a friend in a good way because I can somewhat listen to my friends even if they are far away and talk about some things when we aren't available to meet. It also helps me being a student because I can see posted homeworks and up coming tests so I may study in advanced. i agree that strangers can see the information that you post but that can only happen if you don't think and use the internet wisely which we must always do to ensure our safety and privacy

Social media has affected my life in a way that it has helped me in my academic performance and my attitude, how I act/deal towards everyone and everything. I can say that the social media is beneficial because, as I've said, it has helped me in my school work, it makes me become more aware of the things happening around me, and it guides me how I deal with everything in my life, basically. It also helps me stay and keep connected with my friends, families and loved ones. The social media has taught me social responsibility because it helps me become aware of how I react and how will I react upon everything I encounter online, because something so small can sometimes make a big impact to someone, whether it be negative or positive. It also taught me social responsibility in a way that I always remember the quote "Think before you click" because once you've done or posted something (good or bad), it cannot be easily undone and unseen; but now, those can easily be prevented and avoided because I now know which is right from wrong, or what I should do and what I shouldn't do.
As a daughter, my presence in social media made me become less connected to them (my parents and siblings) because I always have my phone right beside me and they also use their phone most of the time, but as much as possible, we try to become more connected; In our family, my social media presence is a must even though we get to see each other most of the time, even though we have such busy and hectic schedules; plus, I also get to keep up with my relatives abroad through Skype or Viber. As a friend, I am able to become updated on what my friends are doing and what they're up to, and I am somehow able to make friends with people less harder and less awkward. As a student, I'm able to do and excel more because of the numerous resources, websites and information I can use to help me study and to help me in my projects; Also, it has helped me to keep up with what I should do in specific subjects when I'm absent or when I'm having difficulty because then I could easily ask help from some of my classmates.

As a Grade 8 student, social media did affect my life. It helped me in my homeworks, research, essays, and projects. It also makes me updated in the news around the world and it also made me socialize with my relatives abroad. But it can also have disadvantages, people may impersonate you by making a false account, cyber bully you, or even threaten you. It also see that some students don't copy homeworks in school, so they ask it through social media. Social media made me responsible because it helped me in time management and balancing my time in doing assignment and using the internet. It also made me responsible because it makes me careful on what I say or post in the internet. As a daughter it affects me because sometimes I prioritize updating myself in news or celebrities' posts rather than having quality time with family. As a friend, I can help my friends with their problems and concerns through social media networks. As a student, it affects me because I can help my classmates' concerns regarding the assignments.
I believe there are a lot of advantages and disadvantages in using the internet but we can avoid this ( disadvantages ) by being a responsible ICT user. Always remember, Be Safe!

Having social media has both advantages and disadvantages. Social media is for people to be updated with information and news online constantly. It gives a chance to people who want to be known and recognized. It is also for entertainment to share photos and ideas. Though the downfall of social media can be many things- cyberbullying, distraction, time-consuming/wasting of time, etc. People are not fully aware of the proper use of social media which leads to a person being more socially insensitive. When a person is mindless of whatever he/she is posting, this could affect their behavior in real life. If a person keeps on ranting online, they could even be worse in person. Honestly, sometimes social media affects me as it were a distraction, but most of the time it serves as an “escape route” to me. Though if I were a person without any kind of social media the first thing I would notice of people with social medias are their updated knowledge of the news, which is a good thing. Another thing about this is that the feeling of putting down or turning off your apps feels a little strange. It gives the person the question “What should I do now?”. In my opinion, I think social media wouldn’t last for a long time. Maybe people in the future will start to realize how much time they’re using just by scrolling through feeds. Maybe people will start to experience things and see them in person and not from a screen. I am not completely saying that social media is bad, it should just be used at the right time and be used properly. Yes, social media may indeed benefit or harm us in any way, But as long as you follow the correct rules and guidelines of social media etiquette then the internet will be a more fun and educating place for everyone. :-)

Having social media accounts really changed the way I treated everyone around me because it made me realize that our lives online can affect us in real life and vice versa. It helped me be more conscious about what I say and do. Usually, it benefits me because of all the advantages it has but in some situations, that is not the case. For example, Facebook can benefit me because I can talk to friends and family who I don't often see in real life but it can also make me avoid posting anything because of the fear of being judged by others which leads to the feeling of insecurity. Though, I choose to keep being active in my account because the downside of it does not really matter because of how having an account helps me in my everyday life. Another reason why social media is a good thing is that my parents feel more aware of my personal life because they can see what I post and do on Facebook. I can also talk to my friends often and when i'm absent, I can easily catch up with lessons and homework because of owning social media accounts. Based on my experiences, I personally think that social media is something worth keeping in our society today even if not all good comes out of having it. I think that it depends on our own opinions if social media is beneficial or not because for me, it is just the way we think and not how social media works. Yes, people on the internet do influence you. We all need to surround ourselves with people who are a good influence to us or else we may follow their actions and be bad influences ourselves.

As a grade 8 student, having social media accounts benefit me by updating me about the latest news in and outside the country. I am also updated with what my relatives from other countries are doing. Social media teaches me social responsibility because on the internet, there are certain sites, videos and pictures that we are not allowed to view. I, myself do not view them because I know what is right from wrong. My social media presence affects me as a daughter, a friend and a student in a positive way.
As daughter, I get to communicate with my parents when they aren't around via face time, video call or chat. As a friend, I can communicate with long distance friends and even make some internet friends. And as a student, I can chat with some classmates and inform them about home works, or vice versa. We should always remember that using the internet wisely will benefit you and we should always stay safe.

As a grade 8 student, I find it beneficial to have social media accounts despite the fact that they may also have disadvantages. In my perspective, social media can benefit me more than it can harm me. It helps me communicate with my family and friends. It can be a source of information. Social media can make us more aware of our surroundings. In my opinion, I think that social media may cause people to be socially insensitive towards others. Just because we are separated through screens does not mean that we should be socially insensitive or act differently towards others.
Social media has affected me as a daughter because I am able to communicate with my parents whenever they’re away. It has affected me as a friend by communicating with them when they’re not around and to keep in touch with them. It has affected me as a student because some social medias have information we can get. All in all, I think that social media has made a big impact on our lives.

Social media can affect my life in many different ways, like it can help me socialize with my friends more and I get to talk to my relatives far away from where I live. For me, my social media accounts can benefit me more than it can harm me, because as I said it can help me talk to my relatives which are far away from me and it can help me have more confidence when talking to a person because it helps me enhance my conversation skills. Although, my social media accounts can also harm me in a way that other people can steal my personal information and they can impersonate me online. Social Media teaches me to be more responsible. It teaches me to be responsible by making me know that I am the one liable for what I post or do online. The social media affects me badly as a daughter because I usually just sit on the couch and not talk to my family anymore, which I know is a bad thing to do especially that they are the ones who are giving me a great life. It affects me better as a friend because I can talk to them and know the latest news on what has been happening in school and I can know them better while we are far from each other. As a student it affects me in a good and bad way because sometimes I abuse the time I have and sometimes I use it to know the home works, the things we have to bring or even the tests we will have so I know what I will have to study. I agree with you that social media will be beneficial to us by making us responsible in many ways.
