As a Grade 8 student, I think that we can benefit from it. Since, I also have an account. I can connect with my friends, families and relatives far away. I get to communicate with them personally in private messages. It also helps me as officer, because I cantalk to them about their problems in school. It helps me get to know more about them. I can also use social media when I communicate with my parents when they are in other places. We can also learn from it. We get updated with the news and current events going on around the world. We also get to be more aware of what we say to others and how it will affect them. It helps us improve our courtesy in speaking with others. It has a lot of benefits, but it also has negative effects.
Too much of everything is not good. Like the internet, too much of it is not good. We should know when to use the internet and when not to. It shoudn't get in the way of our studies. It should not distract you and keep you away from doing the things you have to accomplish. Always remember to set your priorities. Sometimes, we forget that anything we post on the internet can be seen by everyone, even though we put it on "private" mode. We tend to post things that may later on harm our own safety. The internet was created to help us but because we abused it, it has become a source problems for us. We should be reponsible users of the internet and make the internet a safe place for all of us and for the future generations.

I agree with your statement Cher because the internet helps us in a lot of ways but it shouldn’t be a distraction. We should always set our priorities first. There will always be a proper time for everything. This is also where discipline comes in.

Too often I see people abusing the internet and failing to study for tests or exams. We should always put school first.

I believe that social media is created to benefit its users and not intended to be destructive, but its impact to people is really dependent on how people use or abuse it. I agree with this because I believe that social media was created to help people but because of our abuse of it, it has turn into a "danger" zone.

I agree with this I think that we can use social media to express how we feel. It is important also to be careful with what you post.

As a Grade 8 student, my social media accounts such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter affect my life because it make my life a bit more experienced? because I think a lot of more people are very sensitive when it comes to Social Medias because based on my experiences I have learned how to be more sensitive to people because I know once people tweet or post something online once a person screenshots it nobody could ever delete it literally because once you post something you cannot ever undo it. I think social media accounts benefit us because just like messenger, you get to know the homeworks easily than actually calling the person and sometimes the person is not at home, so facebook could benefit us, but on the other side i think it also has some non benefits because sometimes you get distracted with social media especially when you hear the tone of a message you immediately get distracted and stop your studies until its already past bedtime and you forget to do your homeworks. It affects me as a friend because some people will become more closer to each other when they talk to each other, and you will have more friends and you will socialize more.

As a grade 8 student social media affects me in a good way.It benefits me in school and helping me be aware of my surroundings.
Social media teaches me more ways on how to be a responsible user when using the internet. It helps me know facts about social media and helps me gain knowledge on how i can be safe while surfing the web.
It affects me as a daughter by being able to contact my parents, as a friend it helps me to get to know them better, and as a student the internet helps me with my assignments.

"Too much of everything is not good" I agree with this statement. Because despite all of the good affects of social media, there are also bad affects to it.Like when we use internet as an distraction and cram in the end. As responsible users & students we must learn to have time for everything.

As a Grade 8 student, having social media accounts affected me a lot in a good way. Whenever I have emergency to call or text someone, and when i didn't had load, i can just text or call them in a social media accounts, and I can see my friends daily posts. But in some way too, affects me in a bad way. Whenever I go back from school or outdoor places, instead of reading books or studying and talking to my families, i turn on my gadgets or computer to check my Facebook or Instagram. So than, I lose a time studying and preparing for a next day.
But having social media accounts is not that bad to me because to me, it has more advantages than disadvantages. It helps me to think the right way too, because whenever I post something about me in social accounts and whenever i comment on other friend's post, or i message them, i try to be polite and appreciate others. As a friend, it affects me to chat with our friends in fun and for chatting with them in far away places. As a student, it affects me to ask others about the school works whenever I was absent to the school, and lastly as a daughter, it affects me many responsibilities and sharing about our families, and it tightens our relationship together better.

Many of us have a social media presence — a virtual personality made up of status updates, tweets and connections, stored in the cloud. Adam Ostrow asks a big question: What happens to that personality after you've died? Could it ... live on? As a Grade 8 student, how does having social media accounts affect your life? Does it benefit you more than it harm you or vice versa? Does social media teach you social responsibility or it causes you to be more socially insensitive? How does your social media presence affect you as a daughter, a friend, and a student? If you do not have social media accounts, what some observations do you see from your friends or family with social media accounts? Would you try to create one in the future? These are just some of the few questions that are usually associated in the use of social media sites. Answer these questions in two paragraph. Create your post by replying here. Just click REPLY then type your complete name as Guest Name then write your answer. You will then be directed to a captcha security check. Your answer may be in the form of persuasive (good at persuading someone to do or believe something through reasoning) or informative (providing useful or interesting information). After creating your own post, wait for your classmates to finish their works so may respond and give comments to they have written. To give comment, choose the post of your classmate then click QUOTE. You may now write your reply to your classmates. You may choose a particular sentence or paragraph to quote from your classmate. You are required to give at least one comment to two of your classmates. Below is the criteria for grading: Content - 10 Creativity and fluidity of thoughts - 10 Quality of responses to other posts - 5 Impact of write-up - 5 PR: 30 Once you created your own thread, copy the link and submit using the Turn-In button in our Edmodo account. Have fun writing and expressing yourselves!!

I think that social media accounts have both their bad and good effects on my life. I can use it to communicate with my friends, but it also can distract me from my studies. Despite the bad parts, I think that it can benefit me more than it harms me. It has helped me become more mature and helped be learn to think before speaking. Personally, social media has taught me social responsibility because I have learned that behind the screen, there is someone who has human emotions as well. On the other hand, it has made me a little socially insensitive because some people are a lot different in real life, and I tend to talk to them like how I speak online. I often forget that it’s easy to hide emotions behind a screen and that I should be more sensitive in person. I think that my social media presence has made a big difference in my life. For instance, I have become more confident in talking to people. My grades have also improved because I am able to communicate with my groupmates who are not easily reached. It has opened my mind to the problems that the world faces nowadays. Social media is slowly taking over our lives. But overall, I think that it has its ups and downs but it is up to us to find the positive points and make the most out of them.

As a Grade 8 student, having a social media account does affect my life in a way that it makes me unfocused most of the time. There are times when Social Media do not benefit me because when I am feeling down, the internet makes it worse because it sends me negative or bad news about something like someone who passed away etc. But there are times when social media is MORE beneficial than not, like being able to communicate or to get to know my friends, relatives, classmates or anyone what I know in person, Asking for homework, tips or anything helpful for me. The presence of Social media as a daughter makes my character/characteristics change more in a negative way. It is because I am closely attached to the internet that I don't even bother to communicate with my family members even though we are in the same house. The presence or Social media also influence me positively because when I am in doubt or I want to communicate or socialize with someone. I can count on social media for communicating to my loved ones due to the accessibility and convenience of using the internet. I agree! I think we should all take some time to put down our gadgets and talk to our loved ones.

As a Grade 8 student, my social media accounts such as instagram, twitter and facebook affects me because when I got home from school. Instead of doing my school stuff, I will turn on my gadgets and update my social media accounts. And then I realized that I shouldn't surf on the internet first because I don't have time to do my homework or other school stuff. And it's disadvantages too is the other people can't limit their selves to post or tweet bad things. And I have experienced too in ask.fm, in ask.fm you can hide or not to put your name on it. So, someone ask me about bad things and the people also kept spreading rumors about me which is not true. So I decided to ignored them and I'd just deactivated my account to get rid of my haters. You can't control other people. So you should be 100% responsible of social media accounts and you should follow the proper etiquette in social media. But social media have advantages too, like when sometimes I missed the class. And I will just chat my classmates on FB or I can dm them on twitter to ask the homework or what they've discussed during the class that I missed. And I can be able to cope up to the lessons that they've been through when I was absent. As a friend, it affects me by being able to contact them or to chat them even though they are far away from them, I could still communicate with them. As a daughter, it affects me by being able to have an update on what's going on to my family and relatives and as a student, it affects me by being able to know the stuff or the things that we need to do and also if the classes are suspended. I agree, social media websites do have their advantages and disadvantages.
