As a Grade 8 student, having a social media account does affect my life in a way that it makes me unfocused most of the time. There are times when Social Media do not benefit me because when I am feeling down, the internet makes it worse because it sends me negative or bad news about something like someone who passed away etc. But there are times when social media is MORE beneficial than not, like being able to communicate or to get to know my friends, relatives, classmates or anyone what I know in person, Asking for homework, tips or anything helpful for me. The presence of Social media as a daughter makes my character/characteristics change more in a negative way. It is because I am closely attached to the internet that I don't even bother to communicate with my family members even though we are in the same house. The presence or Social media also influence me positively because when I am in doubt or I want to communicate or socialize with someone. I can count on social media for communicating to my loved ones due to the accessibility and convenience of using the internet. I like how you're focusing on this topic negatively. Most of us say that is helpful, but for you it affects you're character development, which is what i rarely see. That is a nice opinion, though.

From sending messages to our friends online to posting pictures in Facebook or other social media sites, we use our social media accounts almost everyday. Social media accounts can make our lives easier because they can help us communicate and interact with our friends, relatives or even people far from us. Social media accounts are also means through which we can express ourselves. Oftentimes, our posts in social media reflect how we think and feel, giving others an impression about ourselves. This teaches us the value of social responsibility because it makes us make careful decisions on whether there is a need to post something or not. In posting statuses and pictures or sharing videos, we consider how they will affect others and ourselves. Others may misunderstand social media as their online diary in which they post their daily routine or activities, but we should remember that whatever we post online can be seen by a lot of people. Therefore, we need to assess if what we post is necessary, relevant, and an accurate expression of how we want to be viewed by others. As a daughter, it helps me to talk with my parents, especially when they are in a far place. Posting photos of our family also helps us to keep track of the memorable things we did. As a friend, social media is a way for me to help my classmates with homeworks or projects. It also helps me communicate with my classmates when there is a groupwork we need to discuss. As a student, it helps me learn about current events and information which I can use in school. However, it can also distract me at times, especially when I see notifications appearing in my phone. This teaches us that it is essential to be responsible in using social media accounts to be good users of the internet. We should always remember to think before we click. I like how deep your explanation is. It really conveys the reader to use social media. And the tips will be really helpful to people who will read this.

As a grade 8 student of this generation, social media has affected me quite a lot. It does not affect me quite in the way that the majority people of this generation but, it still takes most of my time. I has affected me in many ways. It is a source of research, information and facts that help me with my academics. It has been a source of communication. It has been the bridge that fills the gap between my friends, classmates, teachers, and far away relatives. It is also a form of entertainment. On the rather negative side, it serves as a beguilement because it eats my time for other more important matters and causes me to cram.
I can't really say whether I can benefit from it or can it harm me more but I do believe say that if we are responsible enough to prioritize academics and use social media wisely, we can say that we can benefit from it. I can directly say that social media made me more responsible and aware of my social behavior. I always try to be less personal and to be as gentle as possible. I always think of the reaction of others toward the things I send or post so that i would not offend anyone. My presence in social media has not changed how people look at me as a daughter, friend or a student because I always see to it that I am true to myself. As a grade 8 student it is expected of me to be more mature and knowledgeable when it comes to social media because as I get older, I am expected to be more independent, responsible and aware of it.

As a Grade 8 student, having social media accounts have advantages and disadvantages in my life. Because most of my classmates have at least a Facebook account, it is one of the only possible ways to communicate to them when I'm not in school. It can help me in asking for the homework and school tasks I've missed when I'm absent. However, this can also be a distraction and a risk. Having a social media account can put your life at risk. I remember what I watched on the local news. There is a new type of scam, the "[Prepaid] Sim-Swap Scam". There are people who included their cellphone numbers as a security feature for Facebook, to prevent hacks in their account. The people responsible for the scam would type the cellphone numbers in their target's Facebook page until they request for a sim swap to the prepaid network and then later on be able to withdraw money from the target's account. This has happened to a lot of people already, prepaid networks doing their best to help in this case. This gives proof how having a social media account can risk your life and your safety.
I think that it doesn't directly teach us social responsibility. I think experiences in posting one's status is the one that teaches us social responsibility. A person posts only a fraction of his/her life, so people might think we are selfish just because we only post pictures from things we have achieved or the things we like. We must always remember to think carefully before we post anything. People might see a different message to your post or your status update. In my opinion, this is where we learn what social responsibility is. I think it affects me as a student because I always carry the name of the school, we all do. We have to be careful to what we post and that we should never put the name of our school at risk, because this shows to other people what the school teaches. It reflects the core values and the name of the school. As a daughter, it affects me just because my parents doesn't have social media accounts and they only have emails, my dad deactivating his and my mom never to create an account. As I said a while ago, having a social media account has risks. There is a family we know that was (I do not know if it's still happening until now) being stalked by a stranger everywhere. It later turns out that the father was caught in a hold-up weeks before it started happening. I am not fully sure, but I think the suspect got his wallet which contains his credit cards, pictures of his family and other personal information. The family finds out days later that there are some men following them in most places. Their son is still a toddler and, knock on wood, can be kidnapped anytime. I apologize for a lengthy 'quick' reply.

As a Grade 8 student, having a social media accounts can affect my life because if ever i have research to do i can just simply click what i need to find out, but in this case i also get distracted, everyday i have a certain time on studying and using my accounts then eventually i always forget that i have tests and homeworks. The social media also has some negative and good things that you could actually change your behaviour in your social media accounts. That's why we should always think before we type of what we say in our social media accounts. As a student, we use edmodo, edmodo always tells us each homeworks if they are deadline or not which can actually make us more responsible. As a daughter and a sibling this helps me communicate better. And as a friend, i could communicate to them if ever we have group works to do or not.

I can see that social media has taken over people's lives. It's true that social media has taken over people's lives. Instead of focusing on our goals in life, we focus on how to make our feed nicer in instagram or chat the whole day with our internet friends and forgets to study. Social media took away our abilities to do physical activities and it makes us unhealthy. We seldom talk with our parents or relatives because we are too busy with social media. It took away our relationship with our family members and especially, our relationship with God.

From all these long years of using social media accounts and what not, it plays a big part in my life. I communicated with other people from different countries and even establishing a meaning full bond with them. The benefits can be that I can teach myself how to do certain things I'm interested in doing when searching for tips from posts with experienced people. The things that can harm me.... well, you can guess that I always tend to switch from the internet to school work each time everyday. It does in fact make me more socially responsible as I continue to meet new people with unique personalities and listening to their problems. It also gives me time to think about the right things to say to a person and not accidentally hurting their feelings. As a daughter and a student, I may be able to interact more with my fellow classmates once I feel comfortable and have adjusted to this new school. This is a very insightful answer. Short yet full of meaning and wisdom. Your answer says a lot and it is a good perspective and understanding of social media. Good job!

Well I strongly agree to the "...I always tend to switch from the internet to school work each time everyday." part . I think that happens to a lot of us. I think that our job is not to give in to temptation. I think that a new student would feel really comfortable and welcome with our class' enthusiasm towards the news of new students. Lastly, I also agree to the paragraph about social responsibility. I agree that we should know what our update's mood or tone would be like. We need to know if it can hurt someone's feelings.

I like how it has facts and at the same time it has a quick story which means you really based it on experience. Its a great blend that creates an effective essay. Good job!

I agree to what you said, Cher. We should know when to use the internet since we are now in the 8th Grade. We should always study first because this will lead us to a better future. We should set a day on when to use the internet so we won't be distracted during school days. Right! Priorities first!

"Too much of everything is not good. Like the internet, too much of it is not good. We should know when to use the internet and when not to. It shouldn't get in the way of our studies. It should not distract you and keep you away from doing the things you have to accomplish. Always remember to set your priorities." I agree to what you said, Cher. As an individual of grade 8, social media's impact is a topic that is being research extensively. It affects my life because when it comes to academic studies most of us forgets the lessons and the schedules for the tests.
You learned to be socially responsible because of the different social media sites. I always think before i click and learn to respect other's opinion.
As a sister, you can easily approach your brothers whenever you need help because social media helps you to communicate easily.

As a Grade 8 student, Social Media affects my life by helping me in my studies and it helps me communicate with my classmates easier so that in case I was absent, I could catch up with the things i missed. Although Social Media helps in many ways, it can also be a distraction. Most of the time, when I arrive at home after school, I will usually check my social media accounts first which will lead to forgetting what I was supposed to do.
The presence of Social Media affects me as a daughter also has pros and cons. For example, I can always update my parents about the things I've been doing and they wouldn't be worrying since they know I am safe. However, Social Media can actually make us lose connection in terms of talking to each other face to face.
