I don't have a social media account but in my observations of my friends and family who have accounts, there are a lot of benefits and disadvantages. Some of the benefits are learning new things, sharing information from photographs to artworks, communicating with friends and family and meeting new people. The disadvantages of using Social Media is that one can easily get distracted from what needs to be done, especially schoolwork. Also one can get sick due to staying up late often and straining of the eyes from too much exposure to the bright screen of the gadgets used. All-in-all, Social Media websites can be both good and bad depending on how you use it. I believe there is a time for everything and when the time is ripe in the future, I would create an account for myself to be able to reap the benefits of technology that is available to all. I really agree with everything that you said, that there are a lot of bad things going on in the cyber-world, but remember that everything has a good side and a bad side. There are also a lot of benefits like if you missed the homework you can talk through the internet. Well, not all people get sick because of staying up too late, they're probably just the people who stay late for an apparent reason like me right now staying up late to homeworks, but I'm sure majority of social media users don't stay up too late that their bodies can handle. You know even if you don't have social media sites it's still better to have real friends, like the ones you can actually touch and feel, rather than having internet friends that you're not even sure how they look like in person. But all in all you're correct about the positivities and negativities of social medias.

In this day and age, it is no question that this my generation's life revolves mostly around the Internet, especially through social media. Through the social media, we can see our friend's and family's photos, videos, and posts which makes most of our lives accessible on the Internet, where nothing can be deleted. With this "nothing can be deleted" way of thinking, this lets us be more aware of the responsibility we hold for the things we are going to do on the Internet. As some people may not be aware of this, they may just recklessly respond in a very disrespectful manner or in a way that doesn't put themselves in a good light. With that explanation, I think that social media teaches us responsibility which affected my life in a good way. While we follow people, we obviously get to see whatever they repost, like, and so on and so fourth. On Tumblr., the people that I followed ended up putting some wayward posts about feminism, racism and etc. on my dashboard which eventually led up to me being more knowledgeable, updated, and informed on what is happening in the Philippines and of course, the other countries. With us getting exposed to more things on the Internet, where sometimes, there are no boundaries, this may lead us to knowing more that what we should as sometimes, the content that we see isn't filtered to suit our age. With this being said, social media presence affects my life by helping me being able to be more informed and updated about things that may come up in a conversation. With that, I see having social media accounts as beneficial as it helps you to know more about the people's point of view about things. Wow. HAHA. I didn't actually realize that until now, and I totally agree with you. I just noticed that all of the social medias I have visited are all in that aspect. But it isn't all like that, some people also post just to make their feed look nice, without actually pointing onto anything, Those accounts are the accounts that were made to look pretty not to express anything at all, and I think it's pretty cool that they thought of that and actually think of another aspect upon making an account, but yet disappointed to those people too because those account just like steal other peoples' pictures and then post them and pretend that it's theirs' but it's not. But anyway, I really support your point of view too.

social media really affects our life, in a way that it already makes us less productive and sometimes not productive at all. although i have said this i don't mean it in a bad way because personally, it would be very hard for me to be able to do school works without social media. social media also affects a lot of students and sometimes even teaches them bad manners. (cursing, being impolite)

Having social media accounts have their advantages and disadvantages, it may affect your life in a good way, it can also affect you in a bad way. By knowing the right things to do and say you get good and positive things from it, but if you post, say, and do things without even thinking if it's appropriate, you can get a bad income from it. in social media, you can learn a lot of things, but make sure you only look at those appropriate for you. As for me, there are instances when I learn a lot of stuff in the internet that are useful to me, but I get annoyed when some people post inappropriate stuff, like, why would they even post it. That is why I don't use social media that much. It depends on what you search and look for, If you search for useful stuff it can benefit you in many ways, but if you get tempted and look at sites not appropriate for your age, or you, you may get unwanted results and not benefit from it. I always look at what the site contains first and look for comments. I also search for a site who is acknowledged by all. That is why I get benefits from it most of the time.
I think they teach us to be social responsibility. It's just that people tend to take advantage of the internet since it is free for all users and it because the internet is full of curious people. They post stuff which are not necessary or even useful in one's life. And that is where curious people check on. They see something unusual and different, and then they open and read it. That is why people say social media is teaches us to be socially insensitive, but is doesn't. It is how people use it. It is how people post. I think every negative thing from social media comes from the users. We should learn how to use it right. I think social media has no bad intention and just has a good reason for why it was made for us.

I realized that social accounts affect every persons lives including mine if they do have on. There are negative and positive results of having these accounts, just like what is happening to me. It can benefit me in many ways for example, keeping in contact with my friends, family members or other people I know of, keeps me updated of what is happening around the world, helps me learn to be responsible because if I can't manage my time wisely my other schedules would be interrupted and having those accounts are a way that taught me how to manage my time wisely. As of the bad side, I can't exactly focus and keep my attention in studying especially at home. I get distracted and tend to go to the internet until i lost track of time and I knew an hour or more has passed.
But for me, I think having social media accounts help me in a way where I can learn from using it, and as for me, I think that If I learn something good from it, I consider it as helpful. Having these accounts don't affect me as a person, it doesn't change who I am. Because when i use those accounts, I express myself, I don't pretend to be others or try to be like others. Even with other people, I don't see them change, I don't notice anything different from others. Being a grade 8 student, this is what I've been noticing and observing. This is my opinion about the questions being asked.

Our world today revolves around social media. According to research, about 74% of adults use social media everyday—may it be for communication or for entertainment. I, myself, have different social accounts and I believe it can affect our lives in many, different ways. Although having social media accounts has its pros and cons, I suppose that if we balance our time on social media and on other things, or if we use the internet in a responsible manner, then I think it won’t harm us in any way.
My social media presence can affect me as a daughter because children and teens nowadays are somehow addicted to their smartphones and other gadgets, so they tend to focus more on what they are doing there rather than spending time with their parents and/or other family members, thus, resulting to lack of time or bonding with them which can destroy our relationship with them. It can also affect me as friend because in our generation today, most friendships are destroyed online. Lastly, it can affect me as a student because the internet can be a distraction from students so they tend to focus more on that rather than studying which is more important.

Social Media is important to me because it helps me know what happens around the world and what happens in my own country. I personally love using social media because it is where I share my experiences with my family and friends. It is also where I express my feelings, and where i keep in touch with my friends. Social media benefits me in many different ways. It also has disadvantage to me as a student, it takes a lot of my time, and keeps me distracted. As a friend and daughter, it helps me to communicate with them. It also helps me to share my feelings with my family and friends.

Even if the internet has its benefits, it also harmed me in a way. When I first created and account (which is on Instagram), I immediately got attached and carried away with it, thus affecting my studies. My grades started to go downhill because I always lose my focus whenever I get home, and my time was not used wisely. I agree with your response, Andrea. Social media can lessen your productivity because they serve as a distraction to the academic life of students.

I know that social media has a bad side and a good side but for me and my relatives social media is the best way of communicating to other people outside the country without paying expensive fees for roaming. For me, social media will last for a lot of generations because the future citizens will find communicating through the social media faster and easier.
