As Hazel Levesque said from "The House of Hades" book 4 of the "Heroes of Olympus" series written by Rick Riordan : “I'm not choosing one of your paths. I'm making my own." It is true that we don't follow other people's decisions but our own decisions. Since we have the free will to decide on what to do, we should always choose the right path.

Social media may affect everyone. For me, it really depends on how you use social media. It harms me more because it prevents me from studying and spending time with my family. Again, it depends on how we use social media. It may teach us social media responsibility or it causes me to be more socially insensitive. But for me, it causes me to be more socially insensitive. Social media affects me as a student because, again, it prevents me from spending quality time with my family. It affects me as a friend because it also prevents me to spend time with my friends. It affects me as student because it prevents me from studying and doing my homework. i would still create one in the future because it could still help me like when i need to ask my classmates something if i was absent.

Having a social media account can affect your life in many different ways. Some good, some bad. I don't know which one was most likely to be, but yes, it can be a bad thing. problems like kidding and other things like those are big problems waiting to grow bigger. Kidding while it remains unnoticed is one thing. getting staff involved is another. A perfect example of this is an incident is a joke review on a motel in Florida. It might be funny at first, but once other people get involved, it goes on too far. To some people, it makes you more insensitive, because it can lead you to making a joke turn into a bad thing, to others responsible because it tells you to think twice before you act or in this case, type. Whatever you get down on the internet reflects how you may or may not be in person. Whatever people do online makes a big difference, especially to who did it. Like a ripple in a pond, lies, gossip and news can spread around, true or not. I have actually gained subscribers over summer and the numbers are slowly growing, but what I do on places like Youtube, I comment nice things and positive words. I do this because I know that the person who made the video worked hard on it. As a friend, it helps me to be more confident and it somehow made me realise that I can't just 'delete' the last thing I said, making me tell myself that I should think before I act. (if anyone is interested in the motel incident, here's a link to some of the news: www.beachcitybugle.com/2015/07/please-stop-posting-false-reviews-to.htmlGod bless)

I believe that social having social media accounts affects people's lives regardless of rather or not their realize it. There are many risks involved with the social media .One of the risks that is most highlighted by today’s media is cyber bullying; over the internet, which mostly occurs on social media sites, such as Facebook. Cyber bullying is defined as the use of electronic communication to bully a person,by sending messages of an intimidating or threatening nature. Another fact about young people and the internet is that they are too open and public with personal information. In my opinion, i think having social media accounts harms us more than it benefits us. I never experienced being cyber bullied but i personally think it is an awful situation to be in. People can intimidate or threaten you that causes you to feel less of what you really are. It makes you feel like you don't deserve to be respected. Cyber bullying affects a lot of people not just physically, but also emotionally. People who are cyber bullied think that they are never good enough and would never fit into society. Yes, we can say that social media helps us communicate with our friends and family, but on the other hand, there are other people who struggle with self confidence because of all the messages and insulting words they receive. Social media can affect our life in many different ways but it will depend on the person's discipline and self control.
A very well-said explanation, I agree with this one.

Social media can be either harmful or beneficial—it depends on how you look at it. On one hand, social media can be harmful because it exposes you to inappropriate material such as usage of bad words, vanity, cyber-bullying and the like. When the youth are exposed to such ideas and images, their minds will be open to thinking that such behavior is acceptable, which will encourage them to follow and act in the same way. Doing so will harm their innocence and challenge their values. On the other hand, one can also benefit from using social media. The existence of social media became a powerful tool in strengthening relationships, may it be with your family, friends, or relatives, by making communicating with easy and convenient. It allows you to connect and be updated with your loved ones, wherever they are and at whatever time of the day. Social media provided the means for you to be more aware and to be well informed of what is happening within society, not only locally but globally as well. I don’t have any social media account at present but understanding the harm and benefits brought about by social media will help me to be more mindful of what I do in social media, if ever I decide to create an account in the future. I believe that the positive or negative effect of social media relies on how a person uses it, therefore we have to be responsible on our usage of social media. We have to be careful and mindful of what we say and do in social media in order to influence others to use social media for a meaningful purpose. I agree that social media can either be harmful or beneficial. I agree that it has positive and negative effects and disadvantages a social media can have.

Having a social media account can affect you in many ways. It both benefits and harms. It benefits because this is where I can interact, with other people, to catch up with things new and many more. It teaches me social responsibility because if I want to share something, I need to think twice or even thrice if my post will benefit the needs of some people, if it will hurt others feelings, or how people will react to it.
As a daughter it teaches me how to manage my time with my family more than the internet. Not just in social media but for other reasons as well. As a friend it helps me keep in touch with my friends and catch up to whats new. As a student, it teaches me to be resourceful. If I was not able to copy the homework, I could ask my classmates what the home work is or if I was absent, I could catch up to the new lesson.

Having social media accounts could be beneficial or harmful in different ways. But it depends with your personality. We should control ourselves in what we should see, hear and type. Teaming up with the disadvantages, we should be responsible with what we are doing, with that we should also know that "internet is forever" no turning back on decisions that you've already made. Apart from the Disadvantages, the benefit you get is that we get to communicate and interact with people who are miles and miles away just for seconds! But we should also be aware to whom we are sending these messages to and what we are sending. It could also be a reference to find new ideas to try just like DIY's and crafts that are mind blowing, at the same time we should still be responsible in what we watch, see and hear. This could also be a learning source for academic use just like Edmodo it helps us to communicate with teachers and a way to do academic activities online.
"Based on my experience I have watched videos that weren't applicable or recommend for my age. This changed my attitude, but when I learned the proper use of ICT I settled my limits and it challenged me to avoid using social media. With my experience I learned that we should limit using Social media as much as possible because we cannot control peoples decisions"
"Lastly, I believe that having social media as a grade 8 student could give us benefit or disadvantages , depending on how people are responsible with using ICT. We should always be aware if not, maybe duple aware or even triple aware in what we decide to do so we could eventually be responsible in using ICT"

Social media has changed me in a lot of ways.In my case, social media can sometimes be a form of distraction or a form of learning. As I stated earlier, it comes in two opposing forms but most of the times, I benefit from it. Through social media, I can talk to long-distant friends or relatives through a web-cam instantly . Besides it giving me an easier time with communication, I learn more ways, tips and advises on how to use networks more intelligently through the influence brought by the people I usually see on my account timeline. I go through it daily and the people usually post relevant and smart content I actually learn new details from. Though sometimes, horrible content is posted, I do not let it occupy my mind. I focus on the good and positive things I saw. As a daughter, my social media accounts do not affect my responsibilities because I know my limits. I know when I can use it and I know when to stop even without my parents warning me to do so. As a friend, having social media is a big help because I can ask for help anytime from them. As a student, it's the same with how it affects me as a daughter and at some points social media has helped me with school, specifically in passing homeworks. All in all, social media is very essential for me. If it never existed, communicating would be a lot harder. Without it, we would be writing letters all the time and before it reaches the person you want to contact, you still have to fill out long forms just to do so and the letter usually reaches the receiver after a long time unlike social media, after you click the enter button, the message has been sent in less than five seconds. All you need to do while using your accounts is to apply what you've learned about social media etiquette and you're good to go! I agree that Social Media could affect our lives in several ways and helps us communicate easier and faster with our distant relatives and peers. "I also liked how you explained it and i also agree that social media can affect your life in many or several ways but it also can depend on your attitude"

Social media can "make or break" my life as a typical student. It can "make" my life as a student by giving me the freedom to learn good things from it. It can also "break" my life by exposing me to inappropriate material and bad examples. For me, social media is equally benefiting and harming me. It has been a huge benefit for me as a student because I can communicate with my classmates online when we are having group projects. I also get to learn useful things that people share online. I can also express myself freely through posting statuses. But social media can bring harm to me as well. I am actually exposing my own identity and personal information to the public.
Social media is teaching me more to be socially responsible because there is always a need for me to be very careful with the words I use when I am posting. There is always a need for me to be sensitive of other's feelings as well. Social media has affected me as a daughter in a good way because I have the chance to communicate with my parents when we're not with each other. It has affected me as a student in equally a good and bad way. In a good way because I can discuss plans with my classmates during group projects. In a bad way because I can get addicted to it and I often forget to prioritize my studies. Social media has affected me as a friend in good way. I learned to be more sensitive of other's feelings. My reason behind why I created various social media accounts is my curiosity. I was always curious on what was always "the trend". I also wanted to know the effects of having social media accounts on myself.

Having social media accounts could affect our life in several different ways, good or bad. There are disadvantages and advantages of having a social media account. Some disadvantages would include cyber-bullying, distraction from studies, losing the ability to communicate and interact face to face, and being exposed to inappropriate content which could influence one's thinking and values. Without having the proper knowledge about Internet Etiquette, the digital environment of the said individual may be rather unruly and unbecoming of the standards Miriam College provides for its students. Apart from the disadvantages of having a social media account, there are also advantages. Some of which are bringing loved ones together, improving the individual's social life, an easy way to maintain connections, and it being an easily accessible educational tool for pupils. The vast breadth of the internet enables people to connect with their loved ones living as far as continents away. It also gives us ease in conversing with peers in any given situation. But most importantly, a platform for our learning community to build upon and develop is provided by all the knowledge already stored in the internet, making it easier for this generation of more technologically advanced individuals to attain a higher level of intellect as the previous one. I believe that social media could affect us in both good and bad ways, relying on how we use it. We should use social media correctly and be aware of our actions in order to influence others about the responsible use of ICT. I agree with what you said: "I believe that social media could affect us in both good and bad ways, relying on how we use it. We should use social media correctly and be aware of our actions in order to influence others about the responsible use of ICT. ". Using social media in correctly can influence others to use it correctly as well.

I think it will last pretty long because people keep using it and it influences the next generation to do the same. Even though people do die, their accounts still live unless, their families decide to delete their accounts. Social Networking is very famous and good for communicating between friends and families from school to home to abroad. It is a medium for communication and relaxation. We must be careful for what we put up on the internet though because you might hurt someone with what you say and what you say is the permanent in the internet

Social media affects in a positive and in a negative way depending upon the users and the readers. Like any other technological innovation, social media has its own share of advantages and disadvantages. Truly, it has become one of the best mediums for transfer of information and knowledge anywhere in the world. As a student, social media acts as a medium to stay in touch with friends, families and even meeting new people. It can enable students to easily contact each other with regards to school projects and homework and assignments. Even in our school, technology like this adopts to a different purposes and very useful especially during suspension of classes. But on the other hand, some social media websites are becoming notorious for cyber bullying. Some users are expressing their emotions violently and may post inappropriate content that can harm other emotions or personalities. Lastly, using social media is the responsibility of everyone. Use it moderately.
