As an eight grader, social media actually harms me more than it benefits me. It honestly causes me to become insensitive to other people. My social media presence affects me as a daughter, a friend, and a student a lot.
Social media can benefit you as a student, especially when you don't have the homework you need for school. But even that can become a disadvantage, us students become lazy to actually copy in school and simply just ask our peers and classmates through Messenger. Also, social media can help us gain a lot of friends, another benefit, yet some of those friends become the reason of our becoming of a bad person.
I have a lot of social media accounts and I have friends introduced to me by my cousin through Facebook. We all have the same taste in music so we get along very well. Whenever someone tries to hate on our music choice, we get very defensive of the music that we like. At first, it made us look like very dedicated fans. But later on, it became too much that we actually forgot there was a person behind every account. It made me realize that my so called "friends" in social media influenced me to become insensitive and I stopped joining them as soon as possible.
Social media made me become an ungrateful kind of daughter because, based on what my parents lecture me about, it seemed like my world revolved around my accounts and my phone. Social media turned me into a lazy student as well. Not only does it make me lazy by not really copying assignments, it also makes me distracted whenever I study. Lastly, this makes me an anti-social friend. I remember a time I hung out with my friends, and we literally didn't talk to each other. We were so focused on our phones and doing our own thing.

As a grade 8 student having a social media account affects my life in a bad way; though it does benefit me but at some point it did harm me. having any connections through the social media could teach you anything at any time and for me it taught me to be socially responsible on and off the internet knowing it could lead me to danger. as a student, the social medial presence affect me by honestly making me very lazy especially with copying what we need to do at home. as a friend it helps me in a quite better way making it easy for me to defend my friends who get bullied and to raise awareness for the bad doings the others do. As a daughter it doesn't affect me as good as the others since it pules me out of talking to my relatives and interacting with them. I am the youngest among everyone in the household there for i was the east updated person and I've observed that while eating we wouldn't talk to each other but they'd tap away updating their status on both twitter and facebook so what i could say is that they've become anti-social and even put their social media accounts first before family and food.No i didn't want to make one because i didn't want to not have a social life but I honestly didn't want to be left out and just sitting there doing nothing acting like nobody was with me even if my whole family was there, so as soon as got my phone i made accounts on every social media i could find even if i didn't necessarily needed and know them and i did all of that just to fit in. like most people they'd want to get with the trends and they most especially don't want to be left out. To sum everything up Having a connection to any social media is both good and bad for people and saying our social media accounts could last for a long time but soon it would delete everything slowly until nothing is left but a distant memory of our accounts. I agree because that what happens sometimes in a family gathering

Although they're not used often, I have several social media accounts. As a Grade 8 student, I think social media has more bad effects than good effects. First of all, social media can help you learn social sensitivity and responsibility online, but it most of the time displays unacceptable behavior against the core values of our school. Other than that, it is a good way to do research for assignments, but can tempt you to visit sites inappropriate for your age and even lose track of what you're supposed to be prioritizing. Another effect of social media is that you can share and document your precious moments of happiness with friends and family, but most people aren't careful about what they post. This could lead to cyberbullying and could lead others to depression, self-harm and suicide.
One thing I am guilty of concerned with social media is forgetting to study or do projects/homework because of different social media accounts. Honestly, I don't think any significant effects are evident when I use social media, especially in my studies and social life. Since I prevented myself from using social media every single hour of the day, and letting my phone be the center of my life, I've made more friends, gotten higher grades, and developed deeper relationships with close friends. It also encouraged me to participate more in extracurricular activities.
I definitely think we should lessen our use of social media, as it has more bad effects as opposed to the good effects. There are many more fulfilling things we overlook that could really benefit our physical, emotional, and social life. I agree with that because that is most definitely true and that happens to almost all students.

As a Grade 8 student social media affects my life through sharing some stories and memories with my friends, it got advantages like for education, socializing purposes and surely disadvantages on some ways where they're cyberbullying and being hacked online. Sometimes when you create projects and homeworks you get distracted from it that would cause you to forget your homeworks. Social media presence affect me as a friend when sharing some posts online through some occasions indeed also from friends gathering one another. As a student it affects me when for example i get absent and i'll use social networkings sites to ask for the homework & reminders i've missed and for researching projects for ideas and articles but also prevents plagarism.
Social media can distact you from studying and it's one the most common problems as a student. It is addictive and we should lessen it and sometimes it could really lessen up your time. We should think before we post online. We could get stalked, dragged or judged and that could cause cyberbullying. We should respect people who uses social medias all the time whether you're thinking of a negative comment we shouldn't let them down that could cause them to have problems with their self esteem or even self harm. Even younger kids has social medias these days and I hope they wouldnt get really be addicted to technology that may ruin their education and they should be watched by their guardian to prevent being harassed by other people on the internet.
Let's all respect each other and use socia medias in the proper way. God Bless! x

As a grade 8 student the way social media affect my life is either for the good or bad. It benefits me and at the same time harms me. It benefits me because I like to relate to others if I know what's going on or what's trending nowadays. It harms me because I get distracted by it easily and I don't get to give a lot of time for studying. Social media mostly teaches me to have responsibility because mostly before I say something I think about it first and what would others think if I were to post something. Though sometimes I get socially insensitive specially when I see a post related to the things that I like but they hate it I have a tendency to get mad and say things that insult them.
As a daughter my parents specially my mom since I am the youngest she wants to check my account to see what posts I am looking at and to make sure the posts are appropriate for me. As a friend as I said in the first paragraph I like to relate with them so that I can talk to them about the topic. As a student as I said again in the first paragraphs I am not able to have proper time management. Sometimes I put more time into social media than on my studies.

I agree to the part in the second paragraph where it says accounts first before family and food. I too am guilty of this situation because at family gatherings I usually do not talk to my relatives but instead I look down on my phone and check my social media accounts. I also notice to some people at restaurants they usually take a picture of their instead of eating. Social media is affecting almost everyone because we put too much time on it instead of the things we are supposed to focus on.

As a Grade 8 student, I can say that social media accounts have both affected my life in a positive and negative way. Social media has taught me to be more socially sensitive. It has taught me to be more careful about what I say and how I say it so that people cannot use it against me. However, Social media can also lead you away from your families and friends. Sometimes, I would rather spend the whole day just being on the internet than spend it with my family or friends. Social media has also led me to procrastinate school works. I would often find myself cramming on the day the homework/project is due.
If I do not have social media accounts, I would probably spend more time with my family and friends but would later on, feel bored and not satisfied of my life. Social media helps me to communicate with my friends/families far away from me. It provides me academic assistance by being able to ask my other classmates what I missed on the day I was absent or for them to explain something that I do not understand. Social media can also provide news updates such as school suspensions, coming typhoons, etc. when a television is not available and provide entertainment. "Are social media accounts good or bad?" I think that it all comes down to self-control and time management. If you know how to control your self and manage your time wisely then you will have no problems balancing your social media accounts with family time and your studies.

Having social media accounts can benefit me and at the same time can also harm me. Having Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook accounts helped me so much whenever I need help in my academics, and also my problems in life. Because of my accounts, i became mature in knowing what the real world is. I became more interested about what's trending. Every morning, my Dad always asks me about updates in sports. He always asks me, "Sino nanalo sa PBA?" or "Ano na-injure na ba si Alyssa Valdez?" But the truth is, I have seen it already on twitter even before it got into the papers. Social media also taught me how to be responsible when I am using the internet. This is the reason why, having social media accounts had benefitted me so much. But of course, if there is a bright side, there would always be a dark side.
Logging in on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook too much can also be harmful. Aside from what my classmates said that it distracts our studies, it can also ruin our life. I was addicted to this kind of couple, a few months ago. After school, I will always open my Instagram and Twitter and I will check if there is a "ganap" or "kilig moments" or "Paparazzi pics" from them. Nine months with Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, that was my life. Observing and being obsessed to people I don't really know. When they broke up, I realized that I also have a life. I realized that I don't need to waste time nosing on other peoples' lives. From what happened, I tried to avoid checking my social media accounts. From then on, i realized that I have my own life to live. That it is happy to have and enjoy my own life, to live my own dreams and not to live in the shadows of my virtual friends and idols.

Nowadays people from all walls of life have their own social media accounts. Having one has its pros and cons, it is a way effective medium to communicate with people all over the world. You can easily keep in touch with close friends, family, even new found friends. Having a social media account is fun and at the same time cool but you need to be responsible of everything you post or comment. As the saying goes "think before you click", because you are liable for what you post.
As a grade 8 student and as a daughter who is a very active user of social media sites, my mom would often check on my home works and tests from time to time. I know that if I won't be a responsible student, I will be restricted to access my accounts, so better study first before anything else. As a friend, using social media accounts helped me to be closer to my friends and gain more friends.

As a grade 8 student, social media sites can both benefit and affect my life in a bad way. The benefits of having social media sites is being able to communicate with friends and classmates. The presence of social media allows me to talk to family members and friends. But having Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other networking sites and can also be a distraction especially whenever I would have to research on something. This makes me lazy and forgetful of my other responsibilities and priorities. Yes, social media has taught me to be more socially sensitive because I know how my actions would affect myself and other people.
Social media will last for a long time and as a grade 8 student we should know as early as now how to be more responsible with the use of the internet.

Social media in a way affects all of us by decreasing our capacity to mingle to our friends and families in physical form. Both in a way has advantages and disadvantages. Social media teaches us social responsibility by simply reminding us that we should have our limits in the internet. Social media can affect me in a good and bad way, good because we can learn more from each other through the internet and bad because we sometimes spend to much time on the web instead of being with a family or friend physically.
As a student we should always remember our limitations especially when it comes to social media because it could affect us too in a bad way. There are advantages, which are forums learning more and others and disadvantages, we can get hate so we should always remember to be careful to the things we do and type online.

As a Grade 8 Student, having social media accounts affect my life in various ways. For one, it gives me news that I can use not just in school, but also socially. I do get loads of benefits from the internet but in the same manner I also adopt dishonest ways that can lead to danger. On the other hand though, I do my best to do what is right. I can truly say that having these accounts affect me greatly because I know that without these, I wouldn't be updated with what's happening with my 'colleagues', relatives on the other side of the world and famous people that I care about.
In some ways, yes, social media has taught me social responsibilities and I know, in fact that it doesn't make me more socially insensitive because as a human being myself, I am aware of my limits when it comes to communicating with others. My social media presence affects me as a daughter, friend, and student by helping me know how the people I love are doing. If they're going through hardships, or if they're celebrating or rejoicing for something, it would be really easier to know because of all these social networking sites.
I agree that we should have our limitations online
