As a grade 8 student, having social media accounts affect my life in a lot of ways. For one, I get to stay connected with people who I don't usually see/meet in person that often. Second, I get to be updated with school works, news, and other important matters. It benefits me more than it harms me because I know that I am using it in the right way. Other people use it too much and it affects their daily lives, which includes studies. Therefore, I can say that social media teaches me to be socially responsible because even if I do spend a lot of my time using it, I know my limits and I know what to prioritize more, which are my studies.
My social media presence affect me as a daughter in such a way that I get to communicate with my parents. As a friend, it draws me closer to them and it makes me have a deeper relationship with them. We also get to "talk" to each other even if we are apart. And as a student, we get to have "study group chats" which help us in our academic performance. I agree with what Cayla said that social media helps us to stay connected with people we don't usually see in person often. I have this friend when i was Grade 3, she transfered to another school but until now, we are still close because of these social media accounts.

As a grade 8 student, having social media accounts affect my life because it weakens my relationship with my family by having more interest in staying online rather than having fun with them. That is why I rarely use my social media accounts at home. Although it may sometimes be beneficial to me when it comes to communicating with others online, it can be harmful because it may consume most of my time and sometimes it does not teach us any lesson at all. Sadly,I believe that most of us are pressured to have an account so that we may be considered part of the group but really I think it is not necessary at all. It really makes us unproductive just sitting and reading other peoples' posts.
Social media does not teach us responsibility because it makes us socially addicted to it making us forget all the other things that are more important leading us to irresponsibility. It also causes me to be more socially insensitive because for example, online there are a lot of bad messages and ideas influencing me to be socially insensitive. My social media presence affects me as a daughter when it comes to paying more attention on the internet than my family. It can affect me as a friend if I reply something bad to her online making her feel bad. Lastly, it can affect me as a student when I don't submit my requirements online on time, making me marked irresponsible. I think that social media presence will last for sometime because many, especially our generation, have taken interest in this and it has already become part of our lives and our culture.

As a grade 8 student having a social media account affects my life in a bad way; though it does benefit me but at some point it did harm me. having any connections through the social media could teach you anything at any time and for me it taught me to be socially responsible on and off the internet knowing it could lead me to danger. as a student, the social medial presence affect me by honestly making me very lazy especially with copying what we need to do at home. as a friend it helps me in a quite better way making it easy for me to defend my friends who get bullied and to raise awareness for the bad doings the others do. As a daughter it doesn't affect me as good as the others since it pules me out of talking to my relatives and interacting with them. I am the youngest among everyone in the household there for i was the east updated person and I've observed that while eating we wouldn't talk to each other but they'd tap away updating their status on both twitter and facebook so what i could say is that they've become anti-social and even put their social media accounts first before family and food.No i didn't want to make one because i didn't want to not have a social life but I honestly didn't want to be left out and just sitting there doing nothing acting like nobody was with me even if my whole family was there, so as soon as got my phone i made accounts on every social media i could find even if i didn't necessarily needed and know them and i did all of that just to fit in. like most people they'd want to get with the trends and they most especially don't want to be left out. To sum everything up Having a connection to any social media is both good and bad for people and saying our social media accounts could last for a long time but soon it would delete everything slowly until nothing is left but a distant memory of our accounts.

As a grade 8 student i think social media can harm us in a good and bad way. Because of social media there are many things that we arent suppose to know at this age. There are many happenings like cyber bullying this can affect us on how we think of ourselves. And this can also harm us because many people hack other accounts and post unecessary posts that can break our relationship with others and this also makes others think of a negative fact about you.
This can affect us in a good way because this keeps us updated with what's happening around our society. This can also be used to chat with our friends and be open to others. Like asking for homeworks or when you feel down and you would want to open up to a trust worthy friend. This helps us also develope a good relationship with other friends.

I agree with Nikki with what she said that joining the social media makes us feel that we fit in. It's sad but it's true and it sometimes makes us helpless.

Although they're not used often, I have several social media accounts. As a Grade 8 student, I think social media has more bad effects than good effects. First of all, social media can help you learn social sensitivity and responsibility online, but it most of the time displays unacceptable behavior against the core values of our school. Other than that, it is a good way to do research for assignments, but can tempt you to visit sites inappropriate for your age and even lose track of what you're supposed to be prioritizing. Another effect of social media is that you can share and document your precious moments of happiness with friends and family, but most people aren't careful about what they post. This could lead to cyberbullying and could lead others to depression, self-harm and suicide.
One thing I am guilty of concerned with social media is forgetting to study or do projects/homework because of different social media accounts. Honestly, I don't think any significant effects are evident when I use social media, especially in my studies and social life. Since I prevented myself from using social media every single hour of the day, and letting my phone be the center of my life, I've made more friends, gotten higher grades, and developed deeper relationships with close friends. It also encouraged me to participate more in extracurricular activities.
I definitely think we should lessen our use of social media, as it has more bad effects as opposed to the good effects. There are many more fulfilling things we overlook that could really benefit our physical, emotional, and social life.

As a grade 8 student, social media affects my life in a bad way. There are benefits of social media, but I think that it's more harmful than beneficial. I'll admit that sometimes I spend most of my time surfing the internet and doing things that are not even important. People, especially teenagers like me, should learn to manage their time and prioritize their studies.
People nowadays are being dependent on social media. They are very addicted to it that it's already their daily habit. They say that they can't live without it. They even post things that shouldn't be posted online like their cellphone numbers, where they're going, and other private informations. They should think of their safety first before anything else. It is important that we should learn to be responsible users of the internet which I don't see in this generation. There are cases where teenagers suicide because of cyber bullying. Other teenagers cut themselves or bully others too, all because of social media. I think that as a daughter, social media affects me in a bad way because I spend my time online rather than spending my time with my family. As a student, social media helps me in doing my home works, researching, etc., but it also distracts me in doing my school works. Social media is also a way of communication with my friends and family. Social media isn't that bad but we must use it in moderation and we should be responsible users of it.

Personally, the social media has affected me both in good ways and bad ways. First of all, I literally thrive on social media. The first thing I do in the morning is check Instagram and scroll through Tumblr. It's influenced me so much as a person I honestly don't know what kind of person I'd be if I never had access to it. The way I type, my personality, the things I like, the music I listen to, my opinion on different kinds of things, I got most of them from social media. Tumblr culture specifically has shaped me into the way I am too especially with the way I usually talk to with my friends. I even met some of my closest friends online too. In my own opinion it made me more social sensitive than I used to be. Because of social media, I'm now more socially aware of how I should talk online and how I should approach different people. I have seen and met people who would start fights because of just disagreeing with an opinion and because of that I became more careful of how I talk online. I don't want to start fights in real life or online either way. That's one of the good things I've gotten from social media. So yes, I guess that counts as social responsibility. However, a bad thing would be is how i became lazier with doing responsibilities I need to do. I don't want to blame it on social media, but it is true since I'd prefer to do something else than doing homework or studying.
I haven't really thought of how it affects me as a daughter but I guess I don't really talk to my family because of it? Although my relations with them are pretty good I just don't consider myself being close to them. As a student, it stresses me out. Like I said before, I'm getting lazier and lazier and all I do is sit in bed all day and look at memes. It's affecting me quite badly because of my laziness, I've been getting bad grades and it stresses me out even more. One of the bad influences I've gotten from it is procrastination. Cramming has been one of my huge problems for me lately. Aside from that, I don't really know how it affects me as a friend since I act kind of the same online and in real life. My friends follow or have me added on my social medias too so there isn't really much of a difference.

I agree that it can keep us updated of the latest happening because social media really updates me of what's going on.

As a Grade 8 student, I can say that social media accounts have both affected my life in a positive and negative way. Social media has taught me to be more socially sensitive. It has taught me to be more careful about what I say and how I say it so that people cannot use it against me. However, Social media can also lead you away from your families and friends. Sometimes, I would rather spend the whole day just being on the internet than spend it with my family or friends. Social media has also led me to procrastinate school works. I would often find myself cramming on the day the homework/project is due. If I do not have social media accounts, I would probably spend more time with my family and friends but would later on, feel bored and not satisfied of my life. Social media helps me to communicate with my friends/families far away from me. It provides me academic assistance by being able to ask my other classmates what I missed on the day I was absent or for them to explain something that I do not understand. Social media can also provide news updates such as school suspensions, coming typhoons, etc. when a television is not available and provide entertainment. "Are social media accounts good or bad?" I think that it all comes down to self-control and time management. If you know how to control your self and manage your time wisely then you will have no problems balancing your social media accounts with family time and your studies. I personally agree.
